About Michael:
Michael (Mike) Barker is an Investment Committee member at 119th Street Capital, the private investment arm of First Bancshares Inc., a multi-generational, family-owned enterprise.
Mike previously led various divisions of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, including Internal Audit, Risk Management, Financial Reporting and Corporate Planning. Mike has substantial expertise in bank owned derivatives, asset/liability management, and bank accounting standards. One of Mike’s greatest accomplishments is championing the creation of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’s enterprise risk management function, an important tool for identification of market, credit, and operational risks.
Mike received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Ball State University, his Master of Business Administration from Anderson University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
